SOLID WASTE TREATMENT & HANDLING

Our experience includes designing landfill additions and evaluating disposal options for solid waste handling. For example, one project looked at a land application alternative for a low nutrient semi-solid industrial waste that had been landfilled for over 15 years. Another project looked at growing an agricultural crop from a discarded waste stream.

We have also designed groundwater monitoring networks for landfills. Other projects have been for groundwater collection and treatment systems. In one project, we replaced five individual well pumps in a collection network with a single vacuum ejector pump. This change was made because the high iron concentration of the groundwater was clogging the well pumps and shutting down the collection system. Our innovative installation virtually eliminated the maintenance on this collection system.
